My Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy of physical education is that every student can and will achieve.  Every child can attain appropriate activity skills, experience confidence about his or her body, and interact with others in a productive manner.  I believe the key to a prosperous classroom is uncomplicated.  This task requires four essential criteria when creating and implementing my lesson plans.

bullet

Classroom Management: First and foremost, the class must be well managed for any learning to take place.

bullet

Sequence: Lessons must follow a sequential outline.  Start with the simple skills and concepts and work towards higher difficulty.  Students must first learn how to walk before they can run.

bullet

Individualization: Every student is an individual and each takes in knowledge at their own pace and in their own unique way.  Some students are visual learners, and some are auditory learners.  A teacher’s job is to accommodate for all learning styles and give every student equal opportunity to learn.

bullet

Adaptation: A teacher’s responsibility is to encourage lifelong learning by generating a positive learning experience.  In physical education games are modified so all students are successful.  When students are successful they are more likely to continue being active in that activity throughout their lifetime.

My goal is to make my students physically educated and to strengthen their outlook on a healthy lifestyle.  I will always encourage lifelong fitness.
